I have been teaching for 10 years. I am originally from Wilkes County but have proudly called Caldwell County home for 20 years.
I am a proud graduate of Appalachian State University. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and in 2006 I received certification to teach all sciences at the High school level . In 2008, I received certification in Technology Education and I have trained at Duke University to become a certified Project Lead the Way Engineering teacher. In the classroom I utilize research- based instructional strategies that involve challenging real world problems that develop the students critical thinking skills. My aim is to develop students into global citizens that are ready to take on the 21st century world The things I enjoy other than teaching are spending time with family, hiking, reading , and of course watching Appalachian football.
